Massage services and choosing a suitable session

A massage appointment may support relaxation, recovery after ordinary exertion, sport or attention to a tense area. Offers differ in pressure, duration, body areas and practitioner background. Turn.am lists independent providers and studios; it does not perform massage, diagnose conditions or set prices.

Describe the goal

Technique names do not always describe an identical session. State preferred and excluded areas, pressure preference and previous experience. More force is not automatically better, and uncontrolled pain should not be treated as a quality measure.

Share relevant health information

Mention recent injury or surgery, skin problems, fever, acute inflammation, known clotting concerns, relevant medication, pregnancy and clinician-imposed restrictions. A new, severe or unexplained symptom calls for appropriate medical assessment rather than a wellness appointment.

Agree consent and boundaries

Confirm body areas, clothing and draping before the session. A client can change pressure, exclude an area or stop at any time. Unexpected intimate contact or sexual propositions are not part of professional massage. For a home visit, confirm who attends, equipment and space requirements.

Check hygiene, timing and cost

Look for clean linens and an appropriate environment, and ask about oils when allergies or fragrance sensitivity matter. Clarify whether advertised minutes are hands-on time or include consultation and changing. Confirm total price, travel, cancellation and lateness terms.
