Dental implantation
Dental implants are currently the best option for restoring missing, previously lost teeth.
Implantation is a surgical dental procedure in which a metal an implant is inserted into the jawbone.
The advantage of implantation is that the function of the lost tooth is restored without grinding, denervation and stressing the neighboring teeth.
Implantation consists of 3 main stages:
1) Planning stage. during this stage, we perform consultations with the patient, assessment of the general state of health, dental assessment and analysis of the health of the oral cavity through examinations, X-ray examinations and, if necessary, consultations with other specialists. A treatment plan is drawn up, that is, the patient must know exactly at which stage what intervention will be performed, how long the given stage may last, what value it may have and if it does not fully comply, then how much the difference may be.
2) The actual operation. after drawing up a treatment plan with the results of all examinations, a definite day of implantation is appointed. On this day, the installation of the actual metal implant in the patient's jaw bone is performed, which takes place in an absolutely seamless manner with local nationalization. After this stage, temporary teeth may be placed in some cases. These teeth are intended for several months, so that during this time, until the placement of the final teeth, the patient can chew, smile, eat, etc. After completing the actual operation, the patient can go about his daily activities after receiving certain instructions.
3) Orthopedic stage. the third stage is already the stage of permanent tooth placement, which takes place on average after three to six months, depending on the case. Before starting this stage, it is necessary to carry out a detailed examination of the oral cavity and the implant of the given area, X-ray examinations, after which, when it is already clear that the osteointegration of the dental implant, that is, its connection to the gold of the jaw, is completely completed, the installation of the final dental construction can be started.
It is absolutely necessary to clearly state that the choice of the dental implant system, the choice of the dental implant company, the choice of the country producing the dental implant can be made only by the dentist performing the dental implantation and not by the patient. Why? Because the patient is not a narrow specialist doctor, does not have detailed scientific research results and examples of hundreds and sometimes even thousands of patients, does not know the latest scientific guidelines (guides) and cannot combine all these data even if he has them at hand.
The best outcome of implantation occurs only when the patient trusts his doctor 100%, follows his instructions, follows all the instructions and when the patient and the doctor follow the pre-made treatment plan. The patient is obliged to visit his doctor for regular check-ups 3-4 times during the next one year after the final completion of implantation, and after that, 1-2 times every year after one year.
